The School

John Rennie High School offers one of the most diverse curricula available at the secondary level. The school features two computer labs and a robotics lab, where students learn to program robots for competition. A wide range of course options is available, including Pottery, Drama, Actors’ Studio, Journalism, Spanish, Debating, Photography, World History, Music (concert and jazz band), Law, Psychology, Computer Applications, Architectural Technology, Advanced Physical Education, enriched Science electives, and Leadership. The timetable is designed to provide students with opportunities to explore various subjects while allowing them to pursue specific interests, such as music.

  • Academic Plus Enriched Program (Entrance Exam Required)

    The Academic Plus (A+) Enriched Program is designed for high-achieving students seeking academic challenges. It enhances the curriculum through experiential learning and prepares students for advanced courses in Cycle 2. All subjects are enriched, with Spanish offered as a third language.

  • Sport-Études Program (Entrance Exam Required)

    The Sport-Études Program, recognized by MEES, combines an accelerated academic schedule with at least three hours of daily sports training. Students must be highly organized and manage their time effectively.

  • French Immersion Program

    This program offers History, Geography, and Science in French, fostering bilingualism. It suits students with strong French skills who can work independently.

  • English Program

    This program builds foundational skills, with all courses taught in English except for French.
